I’ve worked in animation for over 35 years in every aspect of production, but I’m most at home drawing storyboards and directing. Storyboards give you an eagle-eyed view of the story you’re trying to tell, and they are a powerful tool that touches and informs all departments of an animated project.
I love animation’s ability to tell heartfelt stories, educate and inform, and make people laugh… often all at the same time! Animation lets you solve visual problems in ways live action never could.
Along the cartoonists and illustrators who inspire me are Jay Ward, Fred Crippen, Mary Blair, Bill Meléndez, Lynda Barry, and Maurice Vellekoop.
